  • “We believe that it is one thing to have the product, but as far as our club was concerned, we need to have confidence with whom we do business. Tim & Jay Wilhelm wanted to do that little extra to help us. Whilst they ensured we undertsood the features of the E-Z-GO, they showed patience whilst we went through our decision making process. Yes, we are very impressed with our new E-Z-GO golf cars and look forward to a long term relationship with Golf Car World."

Monadelphous and Golf Car World - working together to maintain Barrow Island facilities.

PDF Print E-mail

Monadelphous has purchased 10 Cushman Hauler 1200X golf carts from Golf Car World for use on the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project on Barrow Island.

The vehicles are being utilised by Monadelphous’s facilities maintenance personnel to carry out maintenance duties at the accommodation facilities on Barrow Island, an A Class Nature Reserve off WA’s north-west coast.

Monadelphous Senior Plant & Equipment Technical Officer Steve Travers said that camp maintenance is carried out over a 24 hour period and the quiet operation of equipment is necessary.

“The carts are electric and make little or no sound which is essential to avoid disturbing sleeping residents,” said Steve.

In addition, the robust nature of the carts, the competitive price and the ability to meet the strict quarantine requirements of the island were the contributing factor in choosing to deal with Golf Car World.

“Golf Car World was able to carry out modifications to the carts to ensure they comply with the Project’s strict quarantine requirements,” Steve said.

“To date the Cushman Hauler 1200X has met our expectations. The carts are adhering to the expectations that we envisaged,” he concluded.

Monadelphous is a leading Australian engineering group providing construction, maintenance and industrial services to the resource, energy and infrastructure sectors.  The company’s shares are listed in the S&P/ASX 100 index.

The Gorgon Project is operated by an Australian subsidiary of Chevron and is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (47.3 percent), ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
